Who goes home? Predictive factors in stroke recovery.
One hundred and seventy two stroke patients were assessed two weeks post-stroke by a multi-disciplinary team. The predictive ability of a number of variables, including social, psychological and physical factors, was estimated for four outcome groups. Highly significant factors for good and bad outcome for one year were identified.

respond preferentially to complex sounds (e.g., bandOur understanding of the visual system has benefited pass noise or species-specific vocalizations) relative to markedly from the hypothesis that visual processing tones. In contrast, neurons in the core region respond occurs in two separate streams—one for what (or who) preferentially to tones relative to complex sounds. It is and one for wher...
متن کاملDramatic recovery after IV thrombolysis in anterior circulation ischemic stroke: predictive factors and prognosis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Dramatic recovery (DR) after thrombolysis is dependent of vessel recanalization and is predictive of favorable clinical outcome. Successful recanalization is not equivalent to DR. Our objective was to assess its frequency and evaluate clinical and biochemical predictors and their prognosis. METHODS We analyzed prospectively registered data from January 2007 to September...
متن کاملPredictive importance of index of asymmetry in recovery following stroke.
UNLABELLED Quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) has been proved as a powerfully tool for prediction of the stage of residual functional disable. For predictive value of QEEG, individual profile of every patient is most important. It has been demonstrated that Index of brain symmetry (BSI) present specific asymmetry of power spectra between two brain hemispheres and it has been normalized ...
متن کاملFactors influencing home modification of stroke patients.
BACKGROUND Home modification for stroke victims is often necessary to prevent falls and enable them to have a better quality of life. Up-to-date relationship between personal factors and home modifications in post-stroke patients has not been investigated. OBJECTIVE To identify significant personal factors influencing the requirement for home modification in post-stroke patients. STUDY DESI...
